Suspect Charged, Wanted in Shooting at 12500 Dunlap Street 

Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the shooting of a woman at 12500 Dunlap Street about 9:40 a.m. on Sunday (April 14).
The suspect, Edward Lee Washington, 24, is charged with aggravated assault of a family member in the 248th State District Court.  A 2021 booking photo of Washington, who is not in custody, is attached to this news release.
The victim, 47, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detective B. Phan reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at an apartment complex at the above address and learned the victim had been shot and transported by paramedics to the hospital.
A preliminary investigation determined the victim and Washington, who are common-law married, got into a domestic dispute outside the apartment.  A family member heard a gunshot and learned the victim had been shot by Washington, who then fled the scene.
