Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash at 6400 Westheimer Road about 11:05 a.m. on Sunday (Aug. 7).The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer J. Trevino reported: The victim, a pedestrian, was in a moving lane of traffic at the above address when he was struck by a black Chevrolet Impala traveling eastbound. According to a witness, the suspect driver, described only as a black male, drove away and took a right turn into a nearby apartment complex. Paramedics were called and pronounced the man deceased.Officers located the suspect’s vehicle in the apartment complex at 6263 Westheimer Road.
