Investigation into Fatal Crash at 13800 Gulf Freeway, Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 13800 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) service road about 11:30 p.m. last Friday (May 3).
The identity of the deceased male, 25, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Sudduth and Officer F. Flynn reported:
The male was driving a red Buick Regal southbound on the Gulf Freeway and exited at the Scarsdale Road ramp. The male was traveling at a high rate of speed when he crossed over a curb on the ramp, struck a large light pole and then the outside shoulder near a grassy area of the service road.
Paramedics pronounced the male deceased and transported a female passenger, 20, to an area hospital in stable condition.
The investigation is continuing. There were no other vehicles involved in the crash.
