House Fire in The Edgebrook Area

House Fire
WHEN:
July 27, 2021 at 6:35 a.m.
WHERE:
500 block of Shawnee, 77034
INJURIES:
No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED:
Not available.
DAMAGE:
$40 thousand in estimated damage.
CAUSE:
Failure of equipment or heat source – electrical
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Firefighters arrived on scene within two minutes to find light smoke coming from the eaves of a 1-story home. They found a fire in the kitchen area and quickly extinguished it. Several breakers had been tripped and the fire appeared to have started by a faulty plug. Crews from Stations 26, 70, 29, 52 and 61 responded to this incident.
