WHAT: Detached residential garage fire.
WHEN: April 9, 2024, at 11:09 p.m.
WHERE: 900 block of Oak St. 77018.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.

DAMAGE: $50,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental (electrical).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke coming from a detached garage of a 1-story house and made an attack on the fire. They checked the home and informed the residents their garage was on fire. The garage was ventilated, and the breezeway was checked for extension with none found. Crews controlled the utilities and extinguished the fire. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. 32 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 15, 31, 34, 13, 67 and 30.
