Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 7200 Galveston Road about 2:05 a.m. today (March 28).
The identity of the deceased male, 34, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer J. Best reported:
The driver of a White Lexus IS was traveling northbound near the above address when he saw a male pedestrian standing in the roadway. The driver swerved left to avoid striking the pedestrian, but was unable to avoid him. The driver called 9-1-1 and remained at the scene.
Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased.
The male driver, 19, was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
